Proudly sport your Buffy obsession

P1: I can't help thinking about a show my daughter likes called "Clueless" where one of the characters is this totally self-absorbed red-headed thing who likes to twist her hands into claws and hiss at people who (to her mind) insult her. Has someone found her role models in the 19 year-olds on Fox?
P2: Sorry, Robbin, I don't sink to the level of the current selections on television - IMHO, it's a large waste of time. If it 'ain't on A&E or Discovery Channel, I'm not likely to see it......
If you haven't seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you haven't lived. The narcissistic character in that show is Cordelia.

Hey Jane: I am hooked on that darn show. Should I be embarassed now?
Good lord no. Sport your obsession proudly. With a perfectly straight face, I tell my critics that BTVS is the Shakespear of the '90s. Then they wonder if they are missing something.
Actually, I went to the BTVS newsgroup for something a few months ago. I think I wanted to know if David Boreanaz had signed for next season. I was stunned by the depth of the critical analysis. The kids were drawing parallels between the show and everything from Star Wars to the Bible. I called a friend who is a high school English teacher and told him to forget A Tale of Two Cities.
I'm sure people will flame me, but this is our family bonding show. We laugh, we cry, we talk about it later. What more could you ask?
